I have had good intentions, but obviously not lived up to those intentions. Since I have last blogged..... Cade and I flew home to NJ for our friend Samantha's wedding. While there, some of my friends from Boston drove down and surprised me. I was expecting Jamy, but then in with her walked Cathy and Trina. I can't tell you how excited I was and how much I needed that. The little brats had both told me that they had other things going on for the weekend so they couldn't come, LIARS!!!! Nothing like your old friends to refresh you for a bit! I was so excited to see them because Cade had not met any of his Aunts from Boston.
Also while in NJ we got to meet my new little nephew Gavin for the first time. I am so used to my little tub a lard that when I went to pick him up I almost flew him right over my shoulder. I am used to 20 plus lbs, not 6!!!! There is one thing that I learned from this trip for all of you moms out there, AS MUCH AS IT SEEMS A GOOD IDEA TO FLY HOME AT BEDTIME... DO NOT DO IT. He didn't go to sleep and it was the WORST flight I have had with this child yet!
We were back in Houston for a week and then Mimi flew in and stayed with us for 2 weeks. Our babysitter had a baby, so was for obvious reasons taking some time off so my mom came to fill in for us. It is always so much fun having her here and we miss her even more when she leaves. While she was here though, Tommy bought her a plane ticket to come back in October. It always makes it easier to say good bye when you can say see you in a few weeks.
Cade is now 7 months old. I still can't believe how quickly time has passed. At his last checkup he was 22 lbs 7 ounces and 29 inches long. He is sitting up and doing the "army crawl" ALL over the place. The times of sitting and watching TV are officially over. Today he was playing in the dog water, UGH! He has almost pulled himself up into a standing position on the couch. I fully believe that he is going to walk before he ever does the "real" crawl. He does not have any teeth, but is trying real hard. He bites on anything and everything. Him sitting and being more independent are making things easier, such as shopping, but watch behind you, because if you hear a crash, he has pulled something off of the shelf :) He has stared saying Momma! Of course everything is Momma, but my heart still smiles everytime I hear it!
